International Day Of Light….

History :

The International Day Of Light proposal was first examined by the UNESCO executive board during its 200th session in Paris held from 4-18 October 2016.

16 May

International Day Of Light was celebrating on 16 May each year. The anniversary of was first successful operation of laser in 1960 by physicist and engineer Theodore Maiman. That day is a call to strengthen scientific cooperation and harness it’s potential to foster pace and sustainable development.

Theodore Harold Maiman :

Theodore Harold Maiman was American engineer and physicist. He is widely credited with the invention of the laser. led to the subsequent development of many other types of lesers. The leser mission was successfully complete on May 16,1960.en.unesco.org

Dr. Theodore H. Maiman, of Hughes Research Laboratories studies a ruby crystal in the shape of a cube in a laser (Light Amplification by Simulated Emission of Radiation). (11July 1927 – 05May 2007)
